[ AS A DEUS ]
Misaki may be a newbie to Angelic Layer in the beginning, but as the show progresses, she develops her skills as a Deus more efficiently. She's a quick and eager learner. She doesn't give up or panic (as in go hysterical) when she seems to be losing. Rather, she watches her opponent's moves closely and tries hard to overcome them. For someone who's just been introduced to the game, she has led Hikaru into winning every single match (except against Hatoko and her doll, Suzuka) in the tournament. This, of course, earns her the nickname, the Miracle Rookie.
What is special about Misaki is that she uses all what she has learned to Hikaru's advantage. Let's take dancing as an example. The thing about this move is that it is quite misleading. Though it seems useless at first glance, the opponents drop their guards, giving her the chance to inflict some damage. This is quite evident in the third episode.

Speaking of attacks, even in the heat of battle, she is able to employ various attacks that are quite deadly to Hikaru's opponents. She isn't hesitant when it comes to using the techniques of various deuses (such as Hatoko's Rolling Thunder) to give Hikaru the cutting edge. She doesn't really have a trademark or unique style all on her own and yet she's won almost all the matches thrown her way.
As a Deus, she knows the importance of good sportsmanship. When she loses against Hatoko, she doesn't throw a tantrum. She may have cried, but that's to be expected since it's the first time she's been defeated. But when she realizes (with the help of Icchan-san) that Angelic Layer is only a game and is supposed to be fun, she accepts her loss and moves on. She doesn't bear a grudge and is still as sweet and thoughtful as always. When she wins, however, she doesn't gloat or brag at all. Rather, she remains down-to-earth and humble even when her friends (especially Tamayo) insists she's a great deus.

Misaki deeply cares for her doll. As much as possible, she doesn't want Hikaru to get hurt. That's why she does her best to win. Also, she considers herself as Hikaru's mother since she's the one who has given its personality. That's why when Hikaru is pitted against Buranshe, she asks why Kaede would use an attack (Hyper Mode) that is deadly to both dolls. And when she hears the other girl's answer, she realizes that even if Hikaru suffers, as long as they do their best, everything is going to be alright in the end. This philosophy, of course, pays off because she wins the match.
